Jennifer Bilheimer, Certified Yoga Teacher & Owner of Chicago YogaWorks
Jennifer Bilheimer began her yoga journey in 2001, and became a yoga alliance certified hatha and vinyasa teacher in 2005. Upon completion of her certification, Jen taught yoga part time while maintaining a full time position with the federal government. As Jen progressed in her teaching career she recognized the growing need for yoga outside of the studio. Although she encouraged colleagues to utilize yoga for health and well-being, she found that people were reluctant. Intimidation of yoga studios and time restraints kept people from experiencing yoga, despite the incredible benefits for their health. Aware of the unhealthy, inactive and stressful lifestyles of colleagues, she knew that yoga would facilitate better health and alleviate their chronic health conditions. Jen organized an after work yoga program to advocate regular physical activity and encourage healthier lifestyles. The remarkable attendance and health benefits brought to her colleagues affirmed the importance of yoga in the workplace and inspired her to develop Chicago YogaWorks. It is the Chicago YogaWorks mission to provide convenient and supportive on-site yoga classes that promote the physical and mental health of others.
